The Johnson project was awesome. The family is a great client and adventurous with their trending choices! We loved working with them.  

As we move through the 2020 season of painting, we are seeing the trends shake out through the predictions.  Every year, Sherwin Williams, Behr and Benjamin Moore put out their Color Predictions. Some of the time they are spot on and sometimes the trends come from cutting edge Instagrammers as the season warms up.  As we paint our way through the Spring season, we are finding that the black accents and white overall colors with gold hardware, including lighting and cabinetry hardware, are trending the most.  As in this case with the Johnson project, our client wanted the best of the best, the latest trends for her house.  

The project in total consisted of painting the walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and cabinetry for the paintwork.  Colors chosen for the house were all Sherwin Williams:

• Ceiling: Sherwin Williams SW 7005 Pure White (Dead Flat)
• Walls: Sherwin Williams SW 7005 Pure White (Eggshell)
• Dining Room & Yoga Studio: Sherwin Willaims Sw 6258 Tricorn Black (Eggshell)
• Trim: Sherwin Williams SW 7005 Pure White (Semi-gloss)
• Doors: Sherwin Williams SW 6258 Tricorn Black (Satin)
• Kitchen Cabinets: Sherwin Willaims Sw 6258 Tricorn Black (Satin)
• Built-in Shelving & Mantle: Sherwin Willaims Sw 6258 Tricorn Black (Satin)

As we have posted in other blogs, colors are important but so are sheens.  See a full guide to sheens and which sheen should be used for which part of your house here.   The sheens chosen for this house provide the needed durability for the walls because of pets and children and the sheen for the cabinets is great for a slightly lower luster while still maintaining protection from use in the kitchen and also have that beautiful shine.  The trim throughout the house is a classic semi-gloss for obvious reasons, but the doors were slightly different with a Satin sheen in a very rich deep black.  

For the kitchen, we partnered with Kitchen Concepts to produce this stunning kitchen with beautiful White Quartz for the countertops and backsplash.  We installed GoldBar hardware throughout the kitchen and created open concept shelving, clear coat, lighted wood shelves in place of one cabinet bank.  We installed (client chosen) gold light fixtures throughout the house to contrast the black.  All in all the finished product of this house was stunning.
